Vitantonio Lombardo Ristorante bears the name of its chef and aims to convey a strong sense of familiarity, so that every guest feels at home.
A grotto in the Rione Sassi was deliberately left in its natural charm, thanks to a project by architect Alessandro Tortorelli and at the request of Vitantonio, who chose Matera as a source of inspiration to create a timeless taste, where the cavities and convexity of the stone play a role.
The spaces are irregular, the tuff stone is visible, alternating with elegant glass details that serve as a partition between the "grotto room," a place with large tables and a view of the kitchen, the daily workplace of the chef and his brigade, and the "Cava" room, which is more intimate, a natural climate-controlled cave, next to the wine cellar.
